What is Kosmora?

A card game where each card is based on a Wikipedia article about a real person, place or thing. You open packs, grow your collection, earn Kosmo and trade with other players.

Is there anything to buy?

Yes, Astra, the star currency. You can earn them by playing or buy them with real money, and they buy Style items, card changes and the Odyssey. Kosmo is earned by playing only and has no real-world value. Purchases are for adults, and unspent Astra can be refunded within 14 days of a purchase. The Terms of Use explain the details.

How do packs work?

Each pack has 6 different cards. You start with 20 packs. After that, a pack costs 100 Kosmo (Trader talents bring it down to 85).

When you buy a pack or receive one, it is crafted for you. It shows up in Packs with a progress bar while it is on its way. You can open it once it is ready. Packs open one at a time.

Every hour, an hourly pack waits for you on Home and in Packs. Only one can wait at a time. Tap Claim to add it to your packs, then open it there like any other pack.

You also get a pack the first time you open Kosmora as an app installed on your device, and another when you turn on notifications. Each is given once per account.

A pack's cards are chosen while it is crafted. Replaying the animation never changes them.

What are megapacks, rogue packs and the other special packs?

Megapack. For every 20 packs you open, you get a megapack with 20 cards. Every pack you open counts except a megapack itself and a hacked pack, so your 20 welcome packs bring your first megapack. The Packs screen shows how many you have opened toward the next one.

Rogue pack. Each time you open a pack, there is a 10% chance that a rogue pack slips in with it. A rogue pack has 6 cards and never a Common card. A rogue pack or a hacked pack cannot bring a rogue pack.

Achievement pack. You get one when you complete an achievement. It has 10 cards, and at least one of them is Epic or better.

Legendary pack. You get one on day 7 of the daily streak. It has 10 cards, and at least one of them is Legendary or better.

Daily pack. You get one on day 2 of the daily streak, then two on day 4 and two on day 5. It has 10 cards, and at least one of them is Epic or better.

Challenge pack. You get one for each daily challenge you finish, up to three a day. It has 10 cards, and at least one of them is Epic or better.

Gift pack. A pack of 10 cards from the Kosmora team.

Discord pack. You get one when you link your Discord account and join the Kosmora server, then one more every day you post a message on the Kosmora Discord. It has 6 cards.

Hacked pack. Now and then a link to a hacked pack shows up on the Kosmora Discord. The first player to open it gets the pack. To claim one, link your Discord account in Settings and join the Kosmora server. One hacked pack a day at most.

Fortune talents raise your rarity odds in every pack. Pack guarantees from talents and discovery bonuses only apply to bought packs and the daily treasure pack.

How does the daily streak work?

Come back once a day and tap today's box on Home to claim its reward. The rewards grow over 7 days: 50 Kosmo, a daily pack, 100 Kosmo, 2 daily packs, 2 more daily packs, 200 Kosmo, and on day 7 a legendary pack.

A day follows your own clock and ends at your midnight. If you miss a day, your streak starts again at day 1. After day 7, a new week starts at day 1 and your days in a row keep counting.

Your time zone comes from your device the first time you claim. When you travel, it follows you, at most once a week.

How do daily challenges work?

Each day you get three daily challenges on Home: one easy, one medium and one hard. They are about things you already do in the game, like opening packs, fusing cards or playing Constellation.

Each challenge you finish gives a challenge pack. Tap Claim to get it. A finished challenge you have not claimed is kept for you: at midnight its pack goes to your packs.

You can swap one challenge a day for another of the same level. A day follows your own clock, like the daily streak, and new challenges come after midnight.

Cards from challenge packs never count toward a challenge.

What makes a card rare?

It depends on how often people read the article. Rarity comes from its daily views on Wikipedia and never changes once a card exists. Each rarity has its own gem shape.

How do I earn Kosmo?

Your cards earn it for you, every second. Three things set how much:

  • Your cards. Each different card you own earns. Rarer cards earn more, from Common (x1) to Mythic (x12). Doubles do not add anything.
  • Your families. Collect different cards of one family to give it a tier (at 2, 5, 10, 25 cards and so on). Tiers boost your earnings.
  • Your talents. Wealth talents add a bonus on everything you earn, and Family Pride adds more as your families grow, up to 50% in total.

Each new card adds a little less than the one before, so families and talents matter more as you grow. Earnings keep coming while you are away, for up to 7 days after your last visit (up to 30 with Wealth talents).

Your first self-bought pack takes a few hours. That pace is intended.

What are families?

Families group related cards, such as volcanoes or jazz musicians. Collect different cards of one family to raise its tier: tier I at 2 cards, II at 5, III at 10, IV at 25, and so on. Each tier boosts your earnings. You can see all your families and their tiers on the Families screen.

What does focus do?

On the Families screen, tap the star on up to three families you have started to put them in focus. Each card in your packs then has a small extra chance to come from one of them. This works in every kind of pack and does not change the odds of each rarity.

A pack's cards are chosen while it is crafted, so a new focus applies to the packs crafted after you set it. You can change your focus at any time.

What do I do with doubles?

Keep them, sell them on the market, or fuse them. Fusion turns cards of one rarity into one card of the next rarity: 3 Commons, Uncommons or Rares, 4 Epics or 6 Legendaries. It opens from the Collection.

What are talents?

Talents are permanent upgrades bought with Kosmo. There are five paths: Fortune (rarer cards), Wealth (more Kosmo per hour), Collector (rewards for new cards and families), Trader (cheaper packs and lower fees) and Daybreak (rewards for coming back every day).

Each path has five ranks, bought in order with the gold button. Every rank does more than the one before, and the fifth is a special reward. Rank 1 costs 120 Kosmo; the fifth costs 20,000. The top of the Talents screen shows what your talents do for you now.

Daybreak rewards follow your own day, like the daily streak. They come back at midnight on your clock, and the Talents screen shows when.

Where are my friends, trades and gifts?

In Social. On a phone, tap the gold button in the middle of the bottom bar, then Social; on a computer, Social is in the menu on the left. Home also shows what waits for you there. Social has your trades, your gifts, your friends and your invitation link.

How do trades work?

You can trade a card with a friend: pick a card in their collection, then one of yours of the same rarity, and send your offer. Only cards they can trade are shown, and only your copies that are not on the market or in another offer.

Your friend sees the offer in Social and has 7 days to accept or decline it. If they accept, the two cards change hands at once. Trades cost no fee, for either of you. Common, Uncommon and Rare trades have no daily limit. You can propose 10 Epic or better trades a day (20 with the Trade Baron talent). An offer your friend declines, or does not answer within 7 days, stops counting toward this limit. You can have up to 20 offers waiting at once, and you can cancel an offer until your friend answers.

When a friend offers you a trade, you can also change one of its two cards: offer another card of yours instead of the one they asked for, or ask for another of their cards instead of the one they offered. Their offer closes and yours goes to them. They can accept it, decline it or change a card in turn, up to 5 times in a row. An offer sent this way counts like any offer you propose.

Can I give a card to a friend?

Yes, from Social, in Gifts (or Give on a card page). Pick a friend and one card. You pay a fee that depends on the card, from 1 Kosmo for a Common to 50 Kosmo for a Mythic, and your friend pays nothing to accept it. Trader talents lower your fee, and you see the exact fee before you give. Gifts go to friends only, and you can give 5 cards a day (10 with the Courier talent). If your friend declines, or does not accept within 14 days, the card comes back to you.

How do I invite a friend?

Open Social, then Invite, and copy or share your link. The person you invite opens it, continues with Google or enters their email address, and picks a player name. Once they have opened all their welcome packs, they receive 3 friend packs and 500 Kosmo from you, and you receive 100 Kosmo.

Only new players can join through a link. If they already have an account, the link only signs them in. You see each player you invited by their player name, never their email address. Inviting someone does not make them your friend in the game: add them as a friend in Social if you like. You can receive up to 5 referral rewards a day, and any more arrive on the following days. This limit is only on your reward: the people you invite receive their gift as soon as they have opened their welcome packs.

How do friends work?

Open Social, then Friends, and add a player by their name. Once they accept, they are on your friends list. The friends button at the top of the screen opens Social too.

Friends see every card in each other's collection, every stat on each other's profile and the day each of you last played. Only friends can trade cards and give each other cards. Either of you can remove the friendship at any time, and the other is not told. You can turn off friend requests in Settings.

Where is my profile?

Tap your avatar at the top of the screen. Your profile shows your player name, your stats, three achievements and three cards of your choice. Every profile is public: use Share to send the link to your friends. In Settings you can choose which stats visitors see.

How does the leaderboard work?

The leaderboard ranks players by the Kosmo their cards earn per hour. Players with the same rate are ordered by who reached it first.

It shows every player who played in the last 7 days. Opening a pack, using the market or simply tapping around the game counts. After a week away you leave the board, and you come back as soon as you play again.

How do auctions work?

The market and the Black Market are open to every account from the first day. Moderators can pause trading on an account that breaks the rules.

  • Sellers pick a starting price and 2, 8 or 24 hours. The highest bid when the time runs out wins the card.
  • Listing costs a fee that isn't refunded: 1 Kosmo + 0.5% of the starting price (at most 20 Kosmo) for 2 hours, one and a half times that for 8 hours, and twice that for 24 hours.
  • When a card sells, 8% goes to fees (Trader talents lower it to 5%).
  • Each bid must beat the last by 5% (at least 1 Kosmo). Your bid is held until someone outbids you.
  • A bid in the last 2 minutes adds 2 minutes, so nobody gets sniped.
What's the Black Market?

Once a day, a card that never appears in packs goes on sale. Only one copy exists, and the first player to buy it keeps it. Prices start at 100,000 Kosmo.

How do I sign in?

With your Google account, or with a link sent to your email. You don't need a password. The link works once, for 15 minutes. In Settings you can sign out other devices, download your data or delete your account.

Can I install it like an app?

Yes. See Settings for the steps on your device.

What if I'm offline?

You can look around, but buying, opening and bidding wait until you're back. Your cards keep earning meanwhile.

Accessibility

Kosmora works with a keyboard and screen readers. In Settings you can reduce animations and turn off sound or vibration. Each rarity has its own shape and name as well as a colour.
