Cappuccino is an espresso-based coffee drink traditionally made with steamed milk and a layer of milk foam. It is generally smaller than a caffè latte and has a thick macrofoam topping. Variations may use cream, non-dairy milk substitutes, cocoa powder or cinnamon. Its name refers to Capuchin friars and the beverage's color when milk is added to dark coffee. The modern form developed through a long evolution.
